Signal Field is a generative system that transforms dynamic noise fields into evolving ASCII compositions. Users guide the system’s parameters, but the machine retains its own agency, producing outcomes that exist only once. Even if the same inputs are applied multiple times, the system ensures that no composition ever repeats exactly.
The work explores the intersection of human input and autonomous computation, producing compositions that are unpredictable, ephemeral, and uniquely emergent. Each frame is a living microcosm of symbols, oscillating between order and chaos, with every first encounter also being the last.
Interactivity / Experience
Signal Fields invites exploration. Users influence the system by setting parameters, but the machine retains autonomy—each interaction produces a composition that has never existed before and will never exist again.
This interactivity emphasizes exploration over control, allowing viewers to experience the tension between human intention and algorithmic decision-making. Every engagement becomes a one-time visual ecosystem, reinforcing the concept of emergent authorship and impermanence.
